James Marsters (born 20 August 1962) in an American actor who played John Hart in the Torchwood episodes Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Fragments and Exit Wounds.

Marsters' is best known for his performances as the vampire Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off, Angel. His character used the alias "The Doctor" in the Season 6 episode, As You Were, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though his actions bore no similiarities to the namesake. As Spike, Marsters affected a convincing British accent; he often appears on fan "wish lists" of potential actors to play the Doctor.

Another noted role is as King Piccolo in Dragonball Evolution.

Marsters has a recurring role as extremist leader Barnabas Greeley in the Battlestar Galactica prequel series, Caprica, which began airing in North America in 2010. He reteams with Torchwood star Naoko Mori in SYFY's new series Three Inches in 2011.

Besides acting, Marsters is a guitarist. He has a son named Sullivan born in 1996.
