Thinwood was a Scottish man. In Orkney, Scotland in 2025, he was captured along with the Eleventh Doctor by Caskelliac while at a protest opposing the presence of pylons. He later admitted that he only participated in the protest to get closer to Liz, a girl for whom he had romantic feelings. (AG: The Ring of Steel)
