John Robert Ashe was the leader of a human settlement on the planet Uxarieus and the father of Mary Ashe. He bore responsibility for choosing the location of the colony and therefore became unpopular amongst some colonists when the settlement appeared to be on the brink of failure. (DW: Colony in Space)
