Continuity
Three past members of Torchwood are introduced in this novel. Lucy, Charles Cromwell who worked for Torchwood between 1945 - 1975 (and was still active the same time Ianto Jones worked at Torchwood One) and Kenneth Valentine who was with Torchwood in 1953 but by 1967 had defected to the Soviet Union. Because of this all records of him were wiped.
