References

  • The Time Warrior was the first episode to introduce Sarah Jane and the Sontarans. There was also an appearance with the Brig in that episode but with no proper interaction with the Sontaran.
  • The Sontaran Experiment also featured Sarah Jane.
  • The Sontaran Stratagem and The Poison Sky as the Sontaran shown looks like a member of the Tenth Sontaran Battle Fleet which appeared in these episodes and would also count as The Last Sontaran
  • Eye of the Gorgon . The Sontarans were mentioned in part one of this episode as the character Bea Nelson Stanley refered to them as the silliest looking race in the galaxy. Sarah Jane had also told Maria about the Sontarans.

Story notes

  • The title 'The Last Sontaran' was learned when the Penguin Books website revealed the first two of their Sarah Jane Adventures Series 2 novelisations. The information has since been removed from their website.

Rumours

  • Sarah Jane has nightmares about Davros and is convinced he survived the destruction in the Medusa Cascade.
  • The Brig is in this episode. This maybe confusion between this episode and the series finale as the Sontaran is in the series finale along with Mrs Wormwood and the Brig.
  • Maria dies in this episode as possibly shown in trailer when she says "It's Earth or Me." (It's been confirmed that she is leaving to go to America, so she won't die)
