Yeti Traversii was one of the three species of Tibetan Yeti that had been formally identified and classified by 1984. They were discovered by Edward Travers. Unlike the Dzu-teh and Mih-teh Yetis, who were closely related to apes, the Yeti Traversii were more bear-like and very timid. In 1984, the London Zoo had a female Yeti Traversii named Mahamaya, which was successfully bred with a male from Peking. Their offspring was named Margaret for the Prime Minister, whom she bit at a photocall. (PROSE: Downtime)
