Welcome to the Tardis:About TheMostBoringManInTheWorld

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Maintenance lists

Hi. I'm TheMostBoringManInTheWorld, otherwise known as BoringMan, TMBMINTW and MBM. Anyway, I'm new to this wikia, although I'm not that unfamiliar with Wikia, WikiMedia and such related MediaWiki projects. I was meaning to ask you whether if it's okay for me to hang around a bit at the maintenance reports pages? Thanks anyway! TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 16:23, January 3, 2014 (UTC)

What maintenance lists that you can see are obviously available for your use. You don't need "permission" to hang out at them. Knock yourself out: they're a great way to establish an editing pattern!

One thing, though: you say you're familiar with Wikia, and your edits so far certainly display a level of familiarity with MediaWiki. I should inform you that if you do have another Wikia account, you are obliged by local policy to at least name all your other accounts at User:TheMostBoringManInTheWorld.

Thanks for clearing that up!
Anyway, this is my first and only account on Wikia, it's just that I've been inactive for a long time. I spent most of my time on Adventure Time Wiki, but I decided to make a stop here first. TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 07:55, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

Redlinks

Hi! Please note that per Tardis:Redlinks, we do not remove redlinks from pages. They are notices that we need to create new pages. Thanks! Shambala108 15:58, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

OK. Thanks! TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 15:59, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

Trial serial titles

I have reverted your usage of the word "unofficial" in the leads of all articles about The Trial of a Time Lord sub-serial titles. As explained at Thread:148948#7, these titles are indeed "official", because the copyright holder has been consistently using them since at least 1993. They were simply not used for broadcast, or unbroadcast.

Sorry and thanks. Hope I just didn't cause much trouble. TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 07:39, January 6, 2014 (UTC)

Just a suggestion

Hello, and congratulations on having a longer username than I do. ;)

If you want someone to see your reply to their message, reply on their talk page. When your talk page gets edited, you — and only you — get a notification. Not so with others. So unless I actively decided to revisit this page to see if there were any updates, I probably wouldn't notice if you replied to this here. I can't necessarily promise that either Shambala or Czech actually saw your replies. There's also no real need to put your side of the conversation here either, though you are of course free to do what you like.

Anyway, as the title says, just a friendly suggestion. Welcome to the Tardis; I hope you stick around long enough for me to get to know you.

I mostly post my replies on my talkpage and copy my posts on other people's talkpages over here for archiving reasons. I really want to have the both the first and last say in each discussion so that people won't have to bother to go to other people's talkpage archives to have a look on the entire conversation, if they actually need it.
Anyway, I did leave a message on both CzechOut and Shambala's talkpages, if that is of any sort of help. TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 12:06, January 6, 2014 (UTC)
I can see that, yeah. :P Anyway, just passing along the way things are normally done here. We're all already in the habit of opening both user talk pages when reading/adding to a discussion, but I will admit ain't always easy to find both ends of the conversation when they're both archived.
