Verron puzzle box

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Revision as of 19:53, 16 December 2008 by Stardizzy2 (talk | contribs) (Puzzle box moved to Xerron puzzlebox)

There were two puzzle boxes one was given to Sarah Jane Smith by a Verron soothsayer and protects its holder from the power of the Trickster. It protected Maria Jackson and later Alan Jackson during the Trickster's first attempt to destroy Earth by killing Sarah Jane as a child (SJA: Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?). Later, it alerted Rani Chandra and Clyde Langer to the renewed threat of the Trickster, and protected them and their memories from the switch to a timeline where the Trickster conquered Earth having manifested in 1951. The box continued to protect Clyde and Rani from a Graske working for the Trickster. In exchange for helping them defeat the Trickster, Clyde gave the Graske the box to protect him should the Trickster ever seek revenge. (SJA: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith)

The second puzzle box was given to Andrea Yates by the Trickster in 1964 to enable her to forget that she had voluntarily swapped places with Sarah Jane Smith thus causing Sarah Jane's death. It was used by Andrea Yates to call the Trickster after Maria Jackson had (from Andrea Yates viewpoint) begun to remember about the existence of Sarah Jane Smith. This second box may still exist in Sarah Jane's collection of alien artifacts or it may have been removed from time following the Trickster's defeat.

Alternatively it is possible that the Puzzle Box was a single artifact that crossed its own timeline.

It was useless in assisting with the Trickster's plan incite chaos by killing the Tenth Doctor (DW: Turn Left) because the event of Donna Noble meeting the Doctor (DW: The Runaway Bride) occurred a little while after Sarah Jane last encountered him anyway (DW: School Reunion). Remember he removed Sarah Jane from time in 1964 forty years before the day he manifested himself in Bannerman Road. One puzzle box was given to Sarah Jane to defeat the Trickster's plan which used another puzzle box. Furthermore if he had been successful he could remove the Doctor from time at any point in the Doctor's life that Sarah Jane knew of. Meaning he could remove him from time during School Reunion or even decades earlier.
