Donna Noble is back home in London, catching up with her family and generally giving them all the gossip about her journeys. Her grandfather is especially overjoyed — he's discovered a new star and had it named after him. He takes the Doctor, as his special guest, to the naming ceremony.

Story notes
- Given the events of Journey's End, and the fact that she is not featured in the other two novels being released concurrently (The Eyeless and The Story of Martha), it is anticipated that this may be the final novel to feature Donna Noble. In July 2008 it was announced that the first three novels of 2009 will not feature Donna Noble.
- Indeed, the preface and epilogue are set post-Journey's End, suggesting a "goodbye" to Donna.
- The Prime Minister is called Aubrey Fairchild. This is also the name of the deceased reverend in DW: The Next Doctor.
