Journey Blue was a lieutenant in the Combined Galactic Resistance which fought against the Daleks. She and her unconscious brother Kai's spaceship was shot at by Daleks causing Kai to die but Journey survived as The Doctor materialised the TARDIS around her just seconds before the spaceship exploded and takes her to Aristotle where she is reunited with her uncle Morgan Blue who shows the Doctor, their Dalek prisoner Rusty who had turned good. Journey along with the Doctor, Clara Oswald and two other soliders named Ross and Gretchen Carlisle were shrunk and put into Rusty to find out why it had turned good. Whilst there they encountered Dalek Antibodies which killed Ross and later Gretchen. The Doctor discovers a crack in Rusty's casing which leaked radiation and successfully rectifies it with his Sonic screwdriver but this caused Rusty to regain it's murderous intentions and goes on a killing spree and contacts the other Daleks. Journey and Clara then go to Rusty's memory banks where Clara activates the memories and with the Doctor linking with Rusty and convincing it to see the beauty of the universe, it also saw the Doctor's hate for the Dalek race and deems it good, Rusty then turns good again and proceeds to exterminate the other Daleks on Aristotle. After returning to their normal sizes, the Doctor and Clara go to leave in the TARDIS where Journey asks the Doctor if she can join him, although her bravery is noted by him, he turns her down because of the fact that she is a soldier.
