A drilling rig was a laser-like drill used by the Daleks on Antalin. Space Security Service agent Dryn Faber successfully destroyed the rig costing the Daleks valuable minerals and chemicals they were in the process of mining despite efforts of Marine Daleks and a Slyther. (PROSE: War of the Daleks)
