Terry apparently did not have a close relationship with his brother. He seemed very calm about the fact of his brother's death, and when talking to Gwen Cooper explained that his understanding of what had happened was that Eugene "walked into a road, and got run over". During the conversation, he also kept his attention on the television programme he was watching, and never once looked at Gwen. (TW: Random Shoes)

Coincidentally or not, the character has the same name as Terry Jones, a member of Monty Python, who was the only Welsh member of the troupe.
