A dog belonged to one of the people who had disappeared so that the Automatons could search for the Son and the Heir. This dog, on it's lead presumably about to go for a walk ran out of it's owners house past Rani Chandra. When they returned it is unknown whether he was reunited with his owner. (TV: The Empty Planet)
