ProxyMation Corporation was a corporation that provided androids for relatively cheap prices. A client could imprint his memories into the android, which could then act in place of the client. An android usually lasted for a month, after which time its memories would be removed for the next download and its body recycled. The use of ProxyMation androids did cause some debate among philosphers, as the androids had the same memories as the client and were self-aware.
Jason Kane created several ProxyMations of himself to act as literary critics praising his novels. (PROSE: Sex Secrets of the Robot Replicants)
