He and another agent, Bret Vyon, were posted on a mission to the planet Kembel, in order to investigate suspicious activity on the part of Mavic Chen, Guardian of the Solar System. SSS agent Marc Cory had already visited the planet and gotten exterminated by Daleks. Gantry himself, who was wounded by this point, was killed by a Dalek on Kembel. (DW: The Daleks' Master Plan)
