Official name?
Has an official name for these guys been given? I personally like "The Swarm" a lot better than "alien stingrays", but I didn't want to rename the page if that's the official designation. - Monkey with a Gun 23:21, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Now that I note that there's already a page for The Swarm, how about "The Swarm (The Invisible Enemy)" and "The Swarm (Planet of the Dead)"? Or, alternately, "The Swarm" and "The Swarm (virus)"? Monkey with a Gun 04:30, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm firmly opposed to a name change. The only name given to them by the script is "alien stingray". This name is also used in the accompanying Confidential, and in some material on the official site. Sure, it may not be their actual name, but it is "official" in the sense that it's the only one the BBC have given us. One definitely gets the sense that it's the name entered in the official UNIT files. Come to think of it, they probably don't have a "proper" name, because they're not shown to be sentient.
