Okay so anyways. It is definitely a new regeneration. They released this comic as a teaser for the new movie coming out. The new design from the movie matches the one in the comic and looks entirely different to the Mark 2. IT is meant to be a completely new K-9 and the only way K-9 can do that is via regeneration. It is pretty much just simple logic. But I see what you mean. Currently we have no evidence about when or how this regeneration happened, we just have to wait for the movie. Compare the Mark 2 and Mark 3 and you will see. A regeneration has occurred at some point. Check out the new pictures for the movie and compare it with the K-9 from the Short Circuit comic. They match. They are the next regeneration from the K-9 of the television series which they have abandoned. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by KaynineMarkTrey (talk • contribs) .
- I see what you mean, but that's still speculation. It could be a regeneration, or he could have just got new ears somewhere. Maybe he was rebuilt without regeneration. Maybe it's still the "Mark 2" as we know it. We can't say. To avoid confusion, I am suggesting that we merge K9 Mark I, K9 Mark 2 and K9 Mark 3 at Thread:183735. - Or he could not have changed at all. If I remember correct, before the TV-series, a new look for K9 was also imagined, however he turned out to look all different from that.
- I'm against a merging because of the renaming of the character that occurs. K9 Mark I destroys himself and regenerates with the setting K9 Mark 2 and no memory of his previous life. --DCLM ☎ 10:43, October 31, 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, and in one story the First Doctor is Richard Hurndall. Still the First Doctor. It's just as possible that it's just a modernisation, not intended to be its own incarnation. We certainly have no basis for "Mark 3". In any case, what is this comic story, do we have a page on it right now, and who released it?
