DVD?
I have just purchased a DVD containing this story and Shakedown: Return of the Sontarans from this retailer. Am I right in thinking that this is an "unofficial" (i.e. pirated) DVD release? It uses a version of the diamond Doctor Who logo on its cover, and the Doctor Who theme music on its menu page, which I'd think would not be allowed in a legitimate DVD release of these stories.
If I'm right, and this is just some opportunistic pirate release, then of course it doesn't merit mention, but if this was actually released by representatives of Reeltime Pictures then Downtime#DVD and Video releases needs to be updated. —Josiah Rowe ☎ 04:20, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
Is this canon? Why is it canon? because if the story didn't even have permission from the BBC, then it doesn't seem canon. Purplehead ☎ 15:07, December 21, 2014 (UTC)
- First of all, there is no "canon" in the Doctor Who universe — please see Canon. On this wiki we don't allow/disallow stories based on "canon".
- We do, however, define what kinds of stories are accepted as sources for in-universe. Tardis:Valid sources gives the rules we use for deciding what stories are accepted. If you read through those rules and find that Downtime violates at least one of them, then please start a thread at Board:Inclusion debates so the matter can be discussed.
