The MITRE Headset was created by the Slitheen but used by Mr Smith/Xylok. Korst Gogg Thek Lutiven-Day Slitheen created the MITRE Headset by being tricked by Mr Smith. The Slitheen wanted to use the headset to store energy but Mr Smith knew that Luke would escape and come back to Sarah Jane Smith's house. Mr Smith wanted to use the MITRE headset to destroy the Earth by pulling the Moon down to Earth and destroying it. MITRE could not be used like that by a Human but Mr Smith and Luke are the greatest minds on the Earth. For Mr Smith to get one of the headsets he had to trick Sarah Jane and Luke into stealing it from the Pharos Institute. (SJA: The Lost Boy)
