Quencessetianobayolocaturgrathadadeyyilungbarrowmas (Quences for showrt) was Ordinal-General of the Brotherhood of Kithricians and Kithriarch of the House of Lungbarrow.

Profile

Biography

He was a very proud individual and was regarded by the rest of his Family as stuffy, stuck-up, and sometimes unhelpful. Nevertheless, the Doctor was Quences' favourite of the Family, and Quences was said to have doted on him. Quences even gave the Doctor Badger when he was young, and was proud of how clever the Doctor was; even so, it was he who had to make the final decision to disown the Doctor. He was led into this decision by the Housekeeper Satthaltrope when the Doctor announced he’d rather be a doctor than try to become the first of the Family ever appointed Lord Cardinal. Quences later regretted this decision and when it came time for him to die for the last time (at more than 7,000 years old) he refused to read his will until all of the Family—including the disowned Doctor—were present. He insisted on this because he intended to name the Doctor his successor as Kithriarch. Glospin, who had wanted to be named the next Kithriarch, and who had a personal grudge against the Doctor, murdered Quences, hoping that by doing so he could subvert Quences' will. This action led to the House of Lungbarrow and its family being buried and forgotten. (NA: Lungbarrow)

Alternative timeline

In the life of an alternative version of the Doctor, Quences was his great grand uncle. He was Ordinal General which he claimed was "traditional". In this reality, the Doctor was kept a prisoner in a forgotten part of the Capitol with Badger as his keeper. Quences was dead but had transferred his consciousness not to the Matrix but to Badger. The Doctor was kept as a recluse for centuries while his family grew up around him. Quences had believed that the Doctor was to become Lord President of the High Council (or Supreme Council) and that he was the key to the highest table and the corridors of power. However when Susan arrived to find him, it became clear that it was she, not the Doctor, who was going to be President. Susan recognised Quences for what he was, "Auld Mortality", an official whose function was to remind all Presidents that their power was fleeting and the only certainty was death. Susan banished him at her inauguration, and he was destroyed when Badger's positronic brain was destroyed by Captain Suras, one of the Doctor's fictional creations. (DWU: Auld Mortality)
