Confused old man living in a psychiatric hospital in West Sussex who starts repeating what the children all over Earth are saying when the 456 make contact. Gwen realises he must also have had contact with the 456 some time in his past and tries to befriend him to discover what he knows. He has very minor psychic abilities which manifest through his heightened sense of smell; through this he can discern truth, fear, identify pregnancies, and detect the coming of the 456.
He is chased after by the government and runs away from his care home.
In Day 3, it is revealed that Captain Jack was in charge of giving the 12 children including Clem, to the 456. In Day Four, Clem is killed by the 456 when he begins to bleed from the head and nose.
It was theorised he was spared because he was on the cusp of puberty and therefore was considered useless to the 456 who simply abandonned him though his time with them left him wired in to their hive network.
