Anachrophobia was the term used to describe what the Plutocrats believed to be a fear of temporal displacement common among those who underwent time jumps. The scientists performing the time jump experiments believed that the failure of the mind to resynchronise with its return to the present caused a systemic response. However, the Eighth Doctor soon determined that the condition was actually the result of the subjects' pasts being erased as they were possessed by the Clock People. (PROSE: Anachrophobia)
