Hassan-i Sabbah

Hassan-i Sabbah (also known as Hassan al-Sabbah and the Assassin) was a member of Faction Paradox in the 12th century.

Richard Francis Burton believed that he was able to reanimate the decapitated heads of his betrayers. However, the Shift suggested that it was merely a trick: Hassan just buried one of his men up to the neck, poured some blood around, and had him play dead before suddenly opening his eyes and screaming about Hell. Hassan would later genuinely decapitate the man to preserve the trick.

The Shift cited Hassan as an example of patterns propagating throughout the universe, suggesting that a prophecy about seven decapitated heads accidentally inspired Hassan's trick. (PROSE: Head of State)
