Aleesha was a nine-year-old girl whose aunt and uncle were killed during the Year That Never Was. Aleesha's uncle was a soldier away in Iraq and on the day of the Toclafane invasion her mother had left her with her aunt and uncle while she went shopping. Aleesha went on the run to avoid being the Toclane's next victim and two weeks later she noticed Martha Jones, despite her perception filter, because of her glittery earrings. Martha saved her from soldiers capturing humans and putting them into camps. Martha took her to a refugee camp, where she was kept safe. As a goodbye present, Martha gave Aleesha her earrings.
