Aldous Huxley

Aldous Huxley was the author of the science fiction novel Brave New World. A copy of the novel was contained in the TARDIS library. (PROSE: The Wheel of Ice)

In 1899, the Fourth Doctor told Romana I that he had once met Huxley. (AUDIO: The Justice of Jalxar) The Eighth Doctor recalled a picnic in a dusty valley with Huxley, Christopher Isherwood, Bertrand Russell and Greta Garbo. (PROSE: The Scarlet Empress)

Behind the scenes

Huxley died on 22 November 1963, the same day as US President John F. Kennedy and the day before the first broadcast of An Unearthly Child.

He was the grandson of Thomas Huxley.
