Polly James (born 8 July 1941[source needed]) played Jane Hampden in the Doctor Who television story The Awakening. Outside of Doctor Who, she is best known for playing Beryl on the BBC sitcom The Liver Birds, which also starred Nerys Hughes.
She is the mother to actor Adam James, who appeared in Planet of the Dead.
