The Chosen of Kali was a self-description of genetically-modified Thuggees who mostly lived in Fortress Scindia. They worshipped Kali and were genetically modified in her image to have four arms. They could crawl on the walls and ceiling, earning them the nickname "spidery men" from the Twelfth Doctor, and had stealth capabilities coded into their DNA. This made them ideal guards and musclemen for the Scindia family. (COMIC: The Swords of Kali)
