Dogwood and his brothers Petaldew and Larkspur shot down Bernice Summerfield and Adrian Wall's shuttle, thinking it was a giant insect. They welcomed Benny and Adrian to their planet and invited Adrian along on their mission to defend their crops against the Duskflies.
