Maurice Burridge was the reverend of Milton Bradbury Methodist Church.
He found a wrecked spaceship and rescued the alien and dragged its spaceship to the church, keeping both out of sight. He was fortunate that he wasn't able to communicate with the alien, as its method of communication was fatal to humans.
Burridge was visited by the Third Doctor and Liz Shaw, to whom he told the story of the alien's discovery. When the alien escaped, he helped to find it. (PROSE: The Straw that Broke the Camel's Back)
