Ed Hill was the lead singer in Kathmandu. He tried to bring the world to the brink of nuclear war in 1969.

Ed found Om-Tsor in the village of Ghumding in Nepal and began to share his findings with others. Ed later damaged his spine accidentally and had to use Om-Tsor to mentally project himself. One of Ed's followers, Jean-Pierre Rex, began to question Ed's beliefs about causing the end of the world, Ed then shot Rex and adopted his title, the "Revolution Man".

Ed later attempted to bring the world to the point of nuclear war, but was prevented from doing so by the Eighth Doctor who used Om-Tsor to avert the disaster. Ed's Om-Tsor-induced psionic powers grew out of control, Fitz Kreiner then shot Ed to prevent Ed from killing people. Fitz's bullet gave Ed brain damage causing the Doctor to shoot Ed again to put him out of his misery. (PROSE: Revolution Man)

His body was taken to the Vault, where it was examined by Anne Travers to determine the effects of Om-Tsor on the human brain. (PROSE: Beast of Fang Rock)
