Jayne Smythe was the ship's[which?] doctor. She was the one who asked the Counter-Measures team to investigate something strange happening. She became worried when Rachel Jensen and Allison Williams initially couldn't find Ian Gilmore and Toby Kinsella. She was the reason that the team couldn't remember initially why they were there. She helped in their investigation and told them of their escape route. She theorised that it was the psychoactive drugs Dimitri Papkin was giving the passengers which were causing the seizures.
