Welcome to the Tardis:About Zanda21

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:
~ ~ ~ ~

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. Amorkuz 02:05, October 12, 2018 (UTC)

Wiki policy

Hi, I'm writing about some of your edits at Series 11 (Doctor Who). On this wiki we have (a lot of) policies that users must follow in order to make the wiki run smoothly. You may have noticed that we have almost 70,000 pages, and it's easier to maintain the wiki if we try to keep things consistent and easy to manage.

Your removal of the "rowspans" from Series 11 is not necessarily a bad thing in itself, but there are some procedures that must be followed.

  • Any major changes must be made with approval of the wiki community, usually by posting a thread at the forums, in this case Board:The Panopticon. What you would do is start a thread explaining what you want to change and why. And please note that while a proposal is under discussion, no changes can be made using that proposal unless/until it is approved by an admin who closes the thread.
  • Your edit is considered a major change because we are using rowspans on all the series pages, not just Series 11, so we can't just have one page with the changes. Like I mentioned above, consistency across the wiki is easier to maintain, and your change would have to be made across all the series pages.
  • One of the things we want to avoid above all is edit wars. If someone reverts one of your edits, your best course of action is to ask them why on their talk page (especially if that person has more editing experience than you do). If you don't agree with their reversion, you can take it to an admin. What you should not do is keep adding it back every time it is removed. We have a lot of policies, and new users are rarely aware of all of them and therefore often make mistakes.

So basically, if you want to make a case for removing the rowspans, start a thread at Board:The Panopticon, and we'll see what happens.

Thanks for your patience, Shambala108 03:08, November 15, 2018 (UTC)

You've been blocked for three days, but as of right now, this is mostly to make sure you have seen the message I posted above. It's very likely that, as a new user, you haven't seen the above message. Once you let me know, on this page, that you've read the above and will abide by it, I will unblock you. Past tense

Hi please note that on this wiki we use past tense for all in-universe articles, and for real world articles we try to use the past tense as much as possible. This is for consistency and to prevent extra cleanup work when an event in question has passed.

Also, please note that if a more-experienced editor reverts your edits, it's always best to ask them why instead of engaging in an edit war (see Tardis:Edit wars are good for absolutely nothing). Thanks Shambala108 13:29, August 11, 2019 (UTC)

One word is not "extra cleanup work". I'll prefer to stick to the very rules of English. You know, the primary language of this Wikia. Zanda21 15:19, August 11, 2019 (UTC)
This Wikia don't care what you prefer. The Wikia uses past tense, so that is what you abide by when editing on here. And don't undo facts because you choose to read them differently. Thanks. An admin has locked the page and undone your edits. --DCLM 15:44, August 11, 2019 (UTC)
Then it's not an issue anymore, as you can no longer edit war. Learn how to speak English, kiddo. Zanda21 15:46, August 11, 2019 (UTC)

<posted this before the last two comments, but there was an edit conflict>

Hi please note that DCLM is not an admin so his comments are just his opinion. I, however, am an admin, and I will make it clear to you: violating our policies by mistake or ignorance is not a blockable offense. Violating our policies on purpose because you don't like them is a blockable offense. We all have rules here that we don't agree with, and some of them do go against proper English grammar, but we have our reasons for doing what we do; often it's because it makes the wiki run more smoothly and easily. Thanks Shambala108 15:50, August 11, 2019 (UTC)

Zanda21 you must read Tardis:No personal attacks before you make any more edits on this wiki. Thanks Shambala108 15:51, August 11, 2019 (UTC)

Of course, I'd be more than happy to civilly discuss the content that has been disputed with editors that are able to converse with me in valid and correct English. Zanda21 15:53, August 11, 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, Shambala. Of course, as not being an admin I was simply giving him guidelines. Also, Zanda21, personal attacks will get you nowhere, and it was your edits which got undone. --DCLM 15:57, August 11, 2019 (UTC)
I'll be back next week. All the best! Zanda21 15:58, August 11, 2019 (UTC)
Is that an indication that you will continue to violate the Wikia on purpose once the temporary ban is gone? --DCLM 16:04, August 11, 2019 (UTC)
I just said I'd be back next week. Don't make threats or think you can attack me, kiddo. Zanda21 16:05, August 11, 2019 (UTC)

No threat or attack was made by me there. BTW it's rather suspicious that you say "in a week" because that's the exact amount of time the temporary ban holds up. And it's extremely condescending to continually refer to people as "kiddo". --DCLM 16:10, August 11, 2019 (UTC)
