Shokesh was a tourist-based planet.
Shokesh was a desert planet located in a system with particularly dense asteroid belt. This meant that spaceships were damaged and crashed into Shokesh. The natives took advantage of this and built the civilization out of the remains of these crashed ships. It soon grew into a bustling civilization, focused around dealing with tourists who came to see it. As such, the civilization was a blending of many other civilizations, exotic enough to be interesting and mundane enough to be familiar. As well, everyday there were tourists, there was a festival, sometimes several at the same time.
