The Last Voyage is the sixth book in the BBC's exclusive audio range. It was performed by David Tennant and written by Dan Abnett. Released by BBC Audio as a part of their ongoing line of original, single-actor plays, it went on sale on 7 January 2010, a week after Tennant's final televised adventure was originally broadcast.

Synposis

The TARDIS materialises on board the maiden voyage of a pioneering space cruiser, travelling from Earth to the planet Eternity. The Doctor hasn't been exploring for long when nearly all of the passengers disappear, leaving a panic-stricken few behind. As if that wasn't enough, something awful awaits them all on Eternity.

Behind the scenes

  • Released nearly a week after the broadcast of DW: The End of Time, this is one of only a couple of Tenth Doctor-related spin-off products scheduled for release after Matt Smith's debut as the Eleventh Doctor. Another is the Quick Reads novella Code of the Krillitanes, scheduled for release in March 2010.
  • Originally promoted as being the final exclusive-to-audio Tenth Doctor adventure, it has now been announced that another story, BBCR: Dead Air, is now scheduled for release in March 2010.
