We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Timeline

I asked if you had read and left an input at the discussion on the talk page, which you said you had.

If you want an apology, then I do apologise. I mean you no upset.

However, you cannot just presume an timeline. We an an encyclopedia, which mean facts, not best guesses. Just because you feel the "discussion is not going anywhere", does not mean it won't. You must add you thoughts and feelings about the matter on the talk page so we can get a discussion going and continuing until we come to a decision. At the rate your going with the timeline it like "He has a fez, he had a Fez in A Christmas Carol, it must take place straight after that". What evidence is there for this? The Sarah Jane Adventures and 2009

(I can't communicate on the 2009 discussion page, as the spam filter keeps blocking me for some reason) The Mad Woman in the Attic specifies Rani has GCSEs approaching, which are indeed end of term exams taken in the summer. Timeline

Stop changing the timeline on pages, there have been forum discussions in the past about best to order these, using both in and out of universe sources. If you feel these should be changed, please raise it forums and never just go on a massive change that affects a policy just because you feel it should be different. Christmas cheer

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

Release dates

Hi, if you click on the date (month or day) linked in the infobox of these stories, you can see the sources there, which is usually a link to bigfinish.com in the web archive. Not sure why I put the sources there, rather than on the respective pages, but I've started them on the pages since then.

I also have plans to double check each source eventually, as I've noticed that some of the dates aren't 100% reliable. What I mean by this isn't exactly straightforward, so it'll take some time to explain: So with early Big Finish, they often provided an exact date for each release. A few years later, and they're already going by months as they do now, but they have pretty consistent online announcements of release dates, when the stories are released. This soon morphs into much less frequent announcements, say every few weeks, where several announcements come out at once (at least that's what it looks like in the archives), and this is what I'm less confident about. It

So now what I'm doing is just taking the dates in the archive as the latest possible release date, and if that's earlier than the date on the article, then I'll change it. For example with Short Trips: Dalek Empire, the date on their website was 18 December, which is before 22 December (the date on Amazon, and previously on the article) and so I change it to just say December. Hope this is clear? If not, Happy to go into more detail on any cases you want to question - as I said, I will certainly be going over them again at some point. Danochy ☎ 12:27, July 14, 2020 (UTC)

Maze Theory/TLV

So the link you're referring to does say that some of the updates related to the series in question will be story updates, and the Maze Theory press release from that day says that, "The three games create a trilogy of experiences". I included them under this basis, that ostensibly the experience of the latter two would tie in with the story updates, with the idea being that we could always remove them when they're actually released if they don't tie in narratively. I think you subtly misunderstand me. Adding it in is not speculation. It's inference, based on the text of the press release, and solid inference at that. The updates are story updates. The other games form a trio of experiences with the first given its full story. There are only two lines of attack here, the first being that "trio of experiences" is vague enough that there's no plot connection at all - technically true, but not something we should really take for granted in editing, and that while it might tie into the events of the first game in some way it wouldn't be "officially part of the event". Story DLC updates to games are almost never completely narratively discontinuous (something like a completely new character doing something completely unrelated). They might be a side quest that has a whole separate area (as an example), but I would still see this as the second horn. Najawin ☎ 00:17, July 29, 2020 (UTC)

Again, there's narrative continuity in the second horn of what's being suggested, as well as them being "a trilogy of experiences". It seems quite clearly to be a related property, similar to how I noted that Lost in Translation is related to TLV on its page. (I think a similar note should be made on the TLV page, but I figured we should clear up this issue first). These are related properties, being planned at the same time, that are explicitly being stated to synergize in some way, even if are not part of the same event. A note should be made about this.
