On the journey from Cheng-Ting to Shang-Tu with Marco Polo's caravan, the First Doctor, Susan, Barbara, and Ian stayed in an inn in a densely populated area of Cathay. No long after, on the same journey, they stayed in yet another inn, before moving on to Shang-Tu. (TV: "Mighty Kublai Khan")
