Cremation

Cremation was the disposal of corpses in flames. (TV: Planet of Fire, Dark Water)

3W was ostensibly founded by Dr Skarosa, who believed that white noise was telepathic communication from the dead. The name "3W" referred to three words, "don't cremate me", which Skarosa heard when he ran the noise through a translation matrix. Skarosa therefore concluded that the dead continued to feel what was happening to their bodies. Within the Nethersphere, Seb asked the minds of the recently deceased if they were being cremated, those who were became known as "burners". Danny Pink told Seb that he did not know whether or not his body would be cremated, having never thought of it; Seb nevertheless recorded him as a burner, noting that it was "pretty much the default" on Earth by the 2010s.
