Mrs Nelson was an actress who was to perform in Charles Virgil McLean's 1906 production of King Lear but, like everyone but Ethel Halliday, she refused to attend rehearsal the day before until he was paid. She threatened to get on the train back to New York if McLean refused. (AUDIO: The Gift)
