Holo-standards were used as identifcation by Sontaran military units. The 17th Veteran Cohort and the Apostasy of the Goatee raised their holo-standards whilst fighting each other. Taking the Master for a messiah, the Apostasy of the Goatee used the pillar shape of his TARDIS as their holo-standard. (COMIC: The Judas Goatee)
