The 405th issue of Doctor Who Magazine was current from 5 February through 4 March 2009. Following David Tennant's admission that he would leave the role of the Tenth Doctor at the end of the year, this issue served as the cover debut for his successor, Matt Smith, in his first promotional picture precluding his arrival as the Eleventh Doctor.
