Clive was a revolutionary during the time of the military dictatorship led by the Director and subsequently a high-ranking government official after he was overthrown in December 2046.

Clive and Dai were the first to encounter Agents Twenty One and Tina Palamac of the Universal Secret Service after they had completed their four-mile swim to the Welsh coast. Initially sceptical of their motives, they soon became allies after Twenty One used his deadly toys to save them from an approaching unit of the Director's goons. Clive and Dai remained in Wales while Twenty One and Tina presssed on to London with word of a scheduled offensive on the Director's palace eventually reaching them. As a result of this planning, when Twenty One used a toy aircraft loaded with atomic bombs to destroy the palace, Clive and the other revolutionaries were present in the city to crush any further resistance. A member of the British government under Dai as Prime Minister, Clive received Tatiana Bianca after she arrested Twenty One on British soil for resigning from the USS to hunt down Tina's murderers. Although she requested a clearance warrant to take him back to Mars, Clive told her that he did not have the authority to issue her with one and promised to check the position with Dai. He excitedly rushed to his office to inform him of Twenty One's situation at which point Dai poclaimed that they owed him "everything" and told Clive that he did not care about the reason for the arrest. Clive sat next to Dai as he ordered for his private car and four plain clothes men to be summoned to help Twenty One in his escape and the completion of his mission. (COMIC: The Bitter Cold Dish)
