Richard, the Duke of York was a brother of Edward V of England.

He and his brother were kept in the Tower of London in 1483. He was 9 years old at the time. He and his brother were pronounced illegitimate by the future king Richard III.

According to historical records, the brothers were murdered. (AUDIO: The Battle of the Tower)

According to another account, Richard and Edward were kidnapped by an agent of the Council of Eight to prevent them from having an impact on history. They were later rescued by the Eighth Doctor and Trix and taken to the 21st century, where they were adopted by Ernest Fleetward. (PROSE: Sometime Never...)
