The Werelings, later titled Loups-Garoux, (DWM 306) was a script submitted by Marc Platt to the Doctor Who production office during the Fifth Doctor's era. It was a two-part story involving werewolves. (Author's notes for Lungbarrow) It was one of several stories which Platt submitted, including Fires of the Starmind and Warmongers, and had little success with until Cat's Cradle. (DWM 305)

After Platt began writing official Who fiction, he revisited ideas from this script in Loop the Loup and made a minor reference to its events in Lungbarrow. When Big Finish Productions approached him to write a story, he gave Gary Russell the old script of The Werelings, which was then commissioned and expanded into Loups-Garoux. (DWM 306)
