Abiathar was an Ice Warrior scientist who created environment suits to allow his kind to survive in warmer climates. He experimented on himself and began to uncontrollably absorb heat, turning him orange.
Abiathar crash-landed in the Northern Territory and was found by Ros Green, who did not intend on taking him to a medic as he asked and instead ended up taking him to Alice Springs to present him at a television station. His heat detonated the fuel in the van she was driving, destroying the vehicle and killing her, and he lost control of his mind. He fought UNIT and was ultimately infected with the Eleven's toxin and released in space by his pair-bond, Jakernia, to die without endangering others. (AUDIO: Fire and Ice)
