Theosophical Society

According to Jack Stimson's records, Mathilda was once a member of the Theosophical Society, which indicated to Stimson and Jessica Willamy that Mathilda had the "right credentials" to be part of the counterculture movement of the 1960s. (PROSE: Wonderland)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Author Mark Chadbourn chose to describe Mathilda as a former member of the Theosophical Society and current friend of Krishnamurti to reference Krishnamurti's real-world split from the Theosophical Society in the late 1920s.
  • In the real world, the Theosophical Society was co-founded by Helena Blavatsky.
