Emeritus Professor Solomon Merrick was a Fellow of All Souls and Chair of the University Cross-Cultural Council at St Oscar's.
As Merrick was Jewish, he was burnt to death by the Sultan of the Tashwari for working on a Saturday, despite other Jews pointing out to him that this was not the correct punishment. Following his death, Irving Braxiatel realised that he might soon be in trouble himself. (PROSE: Where Angels Fear)
