Dr Bryan Stoker (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters) was the head of the Royal Hope Hospital in London and supervisor to medical students there, including Martha Jones, Oliver Morgenstern, and Julia Swales.

Mr Stoker had little patience for the incompetence of others, often making cynical jokes. (TV: Smith and Jones) Checking on "John Smith", Stoker believed he was crazy, asking an orderly to move him to psychiatric. (TV: Smith and Jones)

Martha described him on her MySpace blog as "a pain" and "pretty obnoxious"; he berated Morgenstern for having to polish his glasses to read a chart, which made Morgenstern cry. However, two days prior Stoker had been considerate when a patient had died, only scolding Martha for closing the patient's eyes. (PROSE: Martha Jones)

In 2008, when Royal Hope was transported to the Moon, Stoker was among the few not to lose his cool; instead, he was fascinated, if somewhat worried. He was killed by the Plasmavore "Florence Finnegan" by having his blood sucked out. He had one daughter, still in university. He planned to retire to Florida, in America. (TV: Smith and Jones)

Behind the scenes

  • Within Smith and Jones, the character is only referred to as B. Stoker. This is a reference to Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, since the alien that killed him was a vampire-like creature. However, it was later shown in The Secret Lives of Monsters that Stoker's full name was Bryan Stoker.
  • According to the script, Mr. Stoker was 55 years old.
