January

February - Birthright, a dramatised audio adaptation of the 1993 novel of the same title, was released by Big Finish Productions.
1 February - The Taint was first published.
1 February - The Mary-Sue Extrusion was first published.
1 February - The Wages of Sin was first published.
11 February - DWM 275 was published.

1 March - Demontage was first published.
1 March - Deep Blue was first published.
1 March - Dead Romance was first published.
1 March - More Short Trips anthology was first published.
11 March - DWM 276 was published.
12 March - The Curse of Fatal Death, a spoof of Doctor Who, was broadcast as part of the BBC's Comic Relief appeal.

5 April - Revolution Man was first published.
8 April - DWM 277 was published.
12 April - Revenge of the Cybermen was re-released on VHS, in its episodic edit.
26 April - Players was first published.

1 July - DWM 280 was published.
5 July - Autumn Mist was first published.
5 July - The Final Sanction was first published.
5 July - The Crusade and The Space Museum were released together in a VHS box set.
REF: The Doctor's Affect, a memoir by onetime K9 assistant operator Stephen Cambden, was first published.
19 July - The Sirens of Time, the first Big Finish Doctor Who story was released on cassette tape and CD.
29 July - DWM 281 was published.

August - Just War, a dramatised audio adaptation of the 1996 novel of the same title was released by Big Finish Productions. Subscribers to the Time Ring Trilogy also received Buried Treasures as a bonus.
August - Homeland was first released.
2 August - Interference - Book One and Interference - Book Two were both first published.
2 August - Return to the Fractured Planet was first published.
2 August - The Massacre was released by BBC Audio.
2 August - Terror of the Zygons was re-released on VHS, in episodic form.
26 August - DWM 282 was published.

October - Absolution was released.
October - The Root of All Evil was released.
1 October - The first edition of REF: I, Who, a long running guide to Doctor Who fiction, was published.
4 October - The Taking of Planet 5 was first published.
4 October - Divided Loyalties was first published.
4 October - Phantasmagoria was first released by Big Finish.
21 October - DWM 284 was published.

November - Whispers of Terror, a Doctor Who story by Big Finish was released on cassette and CD.
November - REF: A Critical History of Doctor Who on Television was first published.
1 November - Corpse Marker was first published.
1 November - The Five Doctors was released in the digital format in the UK.
13 November - BBC2 broadcast Doctor Who Night, an evening of episodes, documentaries and comedy sketches. Introduction to the Night was also broadcast as part of the night, interlinking separate parts of it.
15 November - Planet of the Daleks and Revelation of the Daleks were released together in a VHS tin set.
18 November - DWM 285 was published.
28 November - Frontier Worlds was first published.
