Sargeant Lane was placed in command of a small taskforce of soldiers on Karnos Delta to defend the Kreyfin compound from an assassin. When his troops stopped responding to his calls, presumed dead, his other soldier revealed herself to be Vienna Salvatori, who was using him to learn whether their mission was a trap for her.
