Sittuun were a race of gray, bald humanoids from the Battani-045 system. They were responsible for the Beagle XXI mission, which sent eleven of their race to The Gyre to destroy the planet in order to avoid widespread devastation to nearby systems upon collision with the comet Schuler-Khan. Captain Jamal al-Jehedeh and Lt Baasim al-Jehedeh were of the race, and among the group of eleven on the mission.

Biology

The Sittuun were a gray, bald humanoids with black dotty eyes, no noses, and simple mouths. They were quite capable of speaking Human, but their native tongue was not able to be spoken or understood by humans. They often used human names for themselves and things in their society as a way of being understandable to their human neighbors.

Technology

The Sittuun were less developed in technology than the Humans with whom they had a working relationship. They considered themselves developing, rather than primitive.

Trivia

The name Sittuun was given to the race by humans. It is the Arabic word for "sixty," and was used in reference to the number of Sittuun in the first group encountered by the humans.
